Rule 39
Security arrangements of structures

(1) In order to prevent theft, misuse or unauthorized use of water for the safety of the structure, the following activities may be prohibited:-
(a) To make unauthorized entry into the structure,
(b) to demolish, close or otherwise alter the structure,
(c) to reduce or increase the flow of water to the structure,
(d) to pollute the water of the structure,
(e) to deface or move a fence or sign erected for the purpose of irrigation,
(f) operating, moving or tampering with any device for controlling the flow of water in a structure or any part of such device,
(g) not to roam, graze or let loose any quadruped within the irrigated area where entry is prohibited,
(h) The authorized authority may give permission to drive a vehicle within the irrigation area where entry is prohibited, but not to harm the irrigation area by paying the fee specified by the relevant project.
(i) To remove stones, sand, etc., within the area designated by the concerned irrigation office above and below the dams (headwalks) in the irrigation system and other structures in the river,
(j) to cut the deal of a canal, to change the source of water going to or from a canal or structure or to attempt to do so,
(k) to control the flow of water by obstructing the banks of a river or stream so as to render the structure less useful,
(l) To cut or mow in any manner any river, stream, pond, lake, pond or any part thereof in such a way as to adversely affect the irrigation system,
(d) To draw water by pump without permission.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), the relevant irrigation office or project shall post the notice of the prohibited matter in the main main place of the respective irrigation area and in the irrigation office and in the district administration office and local bodies for the information of the general public.
